Ultimately, the number of therapy sessions required will be unique to your needs and goals, your psychologist will work with you on determining this.

In your first session, your therapist will focus on getting to know you in a broad sense. They will ask you about yourself, your life and the reasons you have come to see them. Discovering the reasons for your anxiety and beginning treatment for this will be the focus of future sessions.
Using the information shared at your first session, your psychologist will formulate a plan for how often you should meet and discuss how many sessions might be needed to achieve your goals.

We use a variety of tools including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and Solution Focussed Therapy.
CBT has been shown to be particularly effective in treating anxiety and improving the quality of life of those patients living with the symptoms of chronic anxiety.
The type of tools used in your therapy will be tailored to your needs and preferences.

No, at Port Phillip Psychology, we aim to remove many of the barriers to accessing help. We recognise that our patients with anxiety in particular may feel safer and less anxious about therapy if they can attend from the comfort of their own home.
To this end, we offer psychology sessions over the phone and via video with a mixture of time slots to suit your needs.
